Insulin aspart
NovoRapid, Novolog, Fiasp
Forms: NovoRapid (NovoLog in the US) and Fiasp, a formulation with added niacinamide. Lispro, glulisine and regular human insulin have their own cards.
Other esters and forms: Human insulin (regular, short-acting), Insulin glulisine, Insulin lispro
A rapid-acting insulin analog: one amino acid replaced, so it reaches peak blood levels sooner than human insulin. Used without diabetes to push nutrients into muscle; among the most dangerous drugs in bodybuilding.
Legal status: Prescription medicine for diabetes; rules vary by country. Banned in sport at all times (WADA S4.4.2).
What it gives
What people use it for and what the sources report. Strength is a general category from the literature: mild, clear or strong.
Purpose
Medically: mealtime insulin for diabetes. Bodybuilders use it for glycogen 'fullness' and anabolic signaling, almost always with steroids, often with GH; gains are partly glycogen, water and fat. It reaches peak blood levels sooner than human insulin. There is no safe way to use it without diabetes.
What people seek and what studies show
People hope for fuller muscles, faster refueling after training and extra size. In human infusion studies insulin mainly slowed muscle protein breakdown; no controlled study shows added muscle or performance in healthy athletes. In an online survey of 41 non-diabetic insulin users from gym and bodybuilding forums, 57% reported hypoglycemia and one lost consciousness.

- Racing or irregular heartbeat that does not settle at rest, dizziness, fainting (especially during exercise), chest pain — call your local emergency number.

Myth & fact
“Rapid-acting insulin wears off sooner, so it is the safer choice.”
Its label shows it reaches peak blood levels sooner than human insulin, not later. Severe hypoglycemia can cause seizures, unconsciousness and death; no eating plan makes it safe.
